Dr. Choi (South Korean) has a Ph.D. in Maritime Law from the University of Exeter (Exeter, the United Kingdom). His main areas of expertise are Public Maritime Law, Law of the Sea, International Marine Environmental Law, Marine Policy, and International Maritime Conventions (IMO Conventions). Prior to joining DMU, he worked as teaching associate and lecturer at Korea Maritime and Ocean University. Based on his experience, he has a special knowledge for Maritime Education and Training. Furthermore, he has a qualified Second-Class Engineer Certificate and has been aboard merchant ships more than 5 years including as the First Engineer at Hanjin shipping co., Ltd.
